MCP becomes the access layer of the engagement stack
Engagement, data and AI platforms expose themselves to agents through MCP servers, which become the common way in.
The pattern so far
Between April and September 2026 MCP went from a line in four release notes to the default way engagement, data and AI platforms let agents in. May brought the first CEP and CDP servers, June the first general availability and the spread into measurement and GTM data, August the large catalogues (Klaviyo's 260 tools, Salesforce Data 360's 200 APIs). By September the news was no longer that a platform had an MCP server, but what the server let an agent do and under whose identity.
Trajectory
Month by month
- Confirmed Reconstructed
MCP kept spreading, and the servers matured: 6sense moved toward GA, AJO added content management tools, Klaviyo launched Headless, Braze documented its server in full and then made the remote server GA, Salesforce put a prebuilt server inside Claude, and Microsoft took federated Copilot connectors over MCP to GA. The volume was in line with previous months.
- The 6sense MCP server moves from beta toward GA.
- AJO adds Content Management MCP tools in CX Coworker.
- Klaviyo Headless makes 260+ MCP tools callable from any AI system.
- Braze documents its remote MCP server in full.
- Salesforce in Claude: a prebuilt MCP server inside Claude with 37 sales skills, in beta for all customers.
- Braze's remote-hosted MCP server is generally available.
- Federated Copilot connectors to third-party sources over MCP are generally available.
- Accelerating Reconstructed
The catalogues grew large and the writes reached configuration. Klaviyo added more than 260 MCP tools, Salesforce made its Data 360 MCP server generally available with about 200 APIs, and Tealium shipped a Configuration MCP that reads and updates server-side profile configuration.

More platforms opened MCP servers, most of them read-first or in early access: RainFocus for event data, 6sense in open beta, five read-only configuration tools in AJO, Braze's remote server in early access, Showpad and Optimove. Microsoft made MCP-built agents callable inside Word and Excel.
- RainFocus delivers live event intelligence to AI agents through MCP Profiles.
- 6sense MCP Server in open beta.
- The AJO MCP server gains five read-only channel-configuration tools.
- Braze released a remote MCP server in early access.
- Showpad's Summer '26 release adds a Remote MCP Server.
- The Optimove MCP can explore a Target Group in natural language.
- MCP-built agents are callable directly inside Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Accelerating Reconstructed
MCP left the engagement layer and reached general availability. ZoomInfo made its GTM data available over MCP in GA, Lifesight opened its measurement model to Claude and ChatGPT, MoEngage and Optimove shipped agents with MCP servers, and Adobe confirmed its CX skills and MCP servers as GA inside Claude Enterprise and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Lifesight MCP lets Claude or ChatGPT query its unified-measurement model.
- ZoomInfo GTM.AI, an API and MCP home for verified GTM data, is generally available.
- MoEngage launched Merlin AI Custom Agents with an open MCP server.
- Optimove launched its AI suite including Optimove MCP for Claude or ChatGPT.
- Adobe's CX skills and MCP servers are confirmed GA in Claude Enterprise and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Salesforce released a Marketing Cloud Engagement MCP server ahead of its Summer '26 schedule, and Tealium's May AI releases included an MCP Configuration Agent. In the weekly of the same week I called MCP the new access layer for the first time.
