4. Analytics services in use
Google Analytics 4
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (property G-6VE0F2H94D) to measure traffic, understand which articles
people read, and see where visitors arrive from. Data is processed by Google Ireland
Limited as data processor, with Google LLC as sub-processor.
The Google Analytics script is not loaded at all until you accept cookies. No request is made to Google's servers, and no cookie is set, before you click Accept. Once loaded, the tag runs with IP anonymisation enabled and with Google Consent Mode signals set so that advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation remain denied. Google Signals and advertising features are not enabled on this property, so your data is not used for ad targeting or joined with an advertising profile.
If you decline, or later withdraw consent using the button in section 6, any
_ga cookies already stored on this domain are deleted.
Ahrefs Web Analytics
This site uses Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how visitors interact with content (page views, referral sources, popular
articles). Ahrefs Analytics is a privacy-focused product that does not use fingerprinting
or cross-site tracking. Data is processed by Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. As a side effect of Ahrefs
using Cloudflare as their CDN/DDoS protection, Cloudflare sets a session cookie (_cfuvid) on the ahrefs.com domain when the analytics script makes a network request.
This cookie is not accessible to this site and expires when you close your browser.
The Ahrefs Analytics script is loaded only if you accept cookies using the banner shown on your first visit.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
This site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to be cookieless and privacy-preserving. It does not set any cookies on this domain and does not track individual users across sites. It is loaded on every page visit regardless of cookie consent, as it does not require consent under GDPR.
Web3Forms (contact form)
The contact form on this site submits data via Web3Forms, a form-submission service. Web3Forms does not set any cookies and only processes the data you explicitly submit through the form.
5. Legal basis for processing
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs) are stored and read on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code implementing the ePrivacy Directive). Neither service is loaded before consent is given. You can withdraw consent at any time using the button below, with no effect on the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and does not store or access information on your device, so it does not require consent.
6. How to manage or withdraw consent

7. Data retention and transfers
Google Analytics data for this property is retained for 14 months, after which user-level and event-level records are deleted automatically; aggregate reports are unaffected. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is the transfer mechanism relied on for any processing that takes place in the United States. Analytics data collected through Ahrefs is retained according to Ahrefs' own privacy policy. Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. is headquartered in Singapore. Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, Ahrefs relies on appropriate safeguards as described in their Privacy Policy.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability.
