MarTech Watch: Week 31, 2026

Week 31, 2026
Coverage window 24–30 July 2026.

For the interpretation of this week, why the MCP server is becoming a governed product surface and what that does to your permission model, see the companion essay: Weekly MarTech Signals That Matter to Me: Part 14, Week 31. This page is the record; the essay is the read.

This week’s record

Two things happened at once: Adobe shipped across three products in a single week, and platforms generally grew new surfaces with the guardrails attached.

  • Adobe Journey Optimizer introduced Loyalty Challenges (28 July), a gamified loyalty orchestration module licensed separately as Journey Optimizer Loyalty and documented as private beta. It connects to existing loyalty platforms through reward fulfilment APIs rather than replacing the points ledger, and auto-generates the journeys that run each challenge. The same release added AI propensity-based channel selection, WhatsApp Flow templates, natural-language Decisioning rules, a migration workspace with AMPscript-compatible helper functions, WAF IP allowlisting for landing pages, and a PII-motivated permission on campaign transitions.
  • Adobe Experience Platform shipped its July release (28 July), including a back-end change consolidating profile attributes at write time rather than read time, a Sandbox Tooling agentic skill in CX Coworker, new Google Ads and Meta Ads sources, and a discontinuation date for Segment Match.
  • Adobe Journey Optimizer B2B delivered 2026.6 (deployed 10 July, captured late here) with variant split paths and a rule builder for event listeners.
  • Braze published its 23 July release, headlined by a remote MCP server (early access) with OAuth and SSO, regional endpoints, write access to content objects, and an explicit statement that no user-profile PII is exposed. The page was a 404 at last week’s scan and is captured here as a dated late capture.
  • Showpad shipped its Summer ‘26 release (28 July) with six Genie Agents and a Remote MCP Server, positioned as making its content available to any AI the team uses under the platform’s existing governance rules.
  • Optimove extended its MCP furthest of anyone: it can now explore segments in natural language and, through create_mini_game, generate and deploy a live playable game and return its URL, paired with a one-day default session and an explicit statement that customer identity is never exposed.
  • Klaviyo added Composer Segment Generation (natural-language segment building) and A/B testing with personalized send time (27 July).
  • HubSpot launched Agent Hub and Agent Builder in public beta (23 July), a console showing live status for every active agent plus a no-code builder, aimed explicitly at agent sprawl. It also added Workflow Templates, a social-post-published workflow trigger and an inline association table (27 July).
  • Bloomreach shipped 1.314 (22 July), where the Loomi agent gained vouchers and SMS but only uses voucher pools that already exist, and follows project-wide silent hours and frequency caps.
  • Adobe Marketo Engage reaches two announced deadlines on 31 July: SOAP API end of support, and the REST Merge Leads 25-ID limit.
  • On the regulatory side, the EU AI Omnibus entered into force (27 July) and New York finalised rules requiring chronological feeds and no overnight push notifications for under-18s (28 July).

No user-profile PII exposed. Operator can now edit Settings pages (quiet hours, push settings, rate limits, messaging rules and approval workflows) in natural language. Also: Messaging Diagnostics dashboard, CSV custom events mapper, WhatsApp limited time offer templates, HTML editor for Banners, Shareable Preview for SMS/WhatsApp/Push/Content Cards/LINE, push credentials update API.Braze
HubSpot (Agent Hub)Public beta (Jul 23)Agentic AI / GovernanceAgent Hub and Agent Builder, public beta for all Professional and Enterprise customers. Agent Hub is a control surface showing live status for every active agent, one-click activation for dormant ones, and access to Agent Builder and the Agent Marketplace from one console. Agent Builder is a no-code canvas assembling custom agents and agentic workflows from natural language and Smart CRM context. HubSpot frames the problem as agent sprawl, citing a prospecting agent contacting a customer while a service agent handles that account’s open complaint, with neither aware of the other.HubSpot
HubSpotShipped (Jul 27)Product releaseWorkflow Templates available in HubSpot Marketplace; new “social post published” workflow enrolment trigger filterable by network, post type, channel or campaign; inline association table expanding related-record data with search, filtering, custom columns and bulk actions from any CRM index page.Orange Marketing recap

OptimoveShipped (Jul ~21)MCP / Agentic AIJuly 2026 release. Customer Explorer in the MCP: the Optimove MCP can now explore a Target Group rather than only size it, answering plain-language questions about attribute distributions, tracking metrics across snapshots, and spot-checking membership. Default MCP session lasts one day, with extended per-tenant sessions on request; Optimove states PII is protected and customer identity is never exposed, only behavioural data. AI Minigame Creation via the MCP: describe a game and the AI generates and deploys it, returning a live playable URL, via create_mini_game and save_mini_game actions, with published games landing in an AI Games library. Target Group gating for minigames checks a player’s CID before the game loads. Conditional Execution cancel mid-flight and one-click re-run on Campaign Execution 2.0. Data Share v1.5 adds Campaign Type, TEMPLATE_ID/TEMPLATE_NAME and an ACTION_SERIAL join key, moves Engagement Activity to daily refresh, and retires the Dynamic Table from 3 August 2026.Optimove What’s New

Adobe Marketo EngageEffective Jul 31DeprecationSOAP API support ends and the REST Merge Leads limit takes effect on 31 July 2026: calls with more than 25 IDs in leadIds return a 1080 error and are skipped.Marketo release notes
Adobe Real-Time CDP / AEPShipped (Jul 28)Product release / CDPJuly 2026 release. Real-Time Customer Profile now consolidates profile attribute data at write time instead of read time, so exports and downstream activation to destinations and AJO complete significantly faster while attribute ingestion may take slightly longer; Adobe advises reviewing ingestion-to-segmentation timing buffers. Sandbox Tooling agentic skill in CX Coworker discovers, packages with dependencies, validates, migrates and monitors sandbox objects, surfacing execution plans for review before running (Schema and Audience objects only). New Google Ads and Meta Ads sources. External audiences as JSON and Parquet. Segment Match discontinued after 27 November 2026, migrate to Real-Time CDP Collaboration. Bloomreach EngagementShipped (Jul 22, rollout to Jul 27)Product release / Agentic AIRelease 1.314. Loomi Marketing Agent can add vouchers to campaigns it builds, including unique per-customer codes from existing pools, and only uses voucher pools and attributes that already exist, telling you rather than inventing a code if none is configured. Loomi can also build SMS and combined email-plus-SMS campaigns from a plain-language brief, offered only where SMS is configured and following project-wide silent hours and frequency caps. Google Postmaster Tools and Microsoft SNDS deliverability data now shown in the email deliverability dashboard with 13 months of history. Omniconnect rearchitected with runtime and ingestion guardrails, tenant isolation and 100M requests per month per tenant. Direct PostgreSQL and Amazon Redshift imports. Fixed outbound IPs extended across most import and export connectors.Bloomreach 1.314
IterableShipped / GA (Jul 21–24)Product releaseNew Handlebars capabilities (Jul 24): sortBy and groupBy helpers for sorting and grouping complex arrays, and a new sentAt email merge tag rendering a message’s original send time rather than render time. Journeys Live Data is now generally available: an external HTTPS endpoint is called from a Live Data tile via a journey webhook with Data Retrieval enabled, returned fields branch users in Yes/No and Attribute Split tiles and personalise templates via liveData references, and values persist to the profile only when explicitly saved. No changes this week (scanned, nothing net-new)

Scanned for the 24–30 July window with no net-new release:

Verified in a browser this run:

  • Adobe Marketo Engage: July 2026 page unchanged since 18 June; the 31 July SOAP and Merge Leads deadlines stand
  • MoEngage: no July 2026 product release as of 30 July, confirmed on MoEngage’s current documentation site. Note that the previously monitored Zendesk help site is frozen at March 2026 and had been giving a false clear; the June 2026 release, which this Watch never recorded, included MoEngage Go, a decision-policy simulator for Offer Decisioning, and Production/Non-Production workspace classification
  • 6sense: MCP Server still open beta, GA still planned for August. Documentation confirms it is read-only, does not execute actions or modify data, and requires each user to authorise individually

Checked but on secondary or single sources, so lower confidence:

  • BlueConic / Blueshift: no integration roadmap, combined branding, or consent and identity model since the 17 June acquisition
  • Databricks CustomerLake: still Private Preview, no GA date or pricing
  • Hightouch: LiveRamp bid unresolved for a sixth week; no Publicis response since the 26 June deadline lapsed
  • InsiderOne: newsroom latest remains Zero Copy Segmentation for Snowflake (8 June)
  • Klaviyo: Composer still labelled beta, no explicit GA
  • Mailchimp (Intuit)
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud / Account Engagement: SMS and WhatsApp consent mapping still due by 17 August
  • HubSpot / Warmly and Zoom / Common Room: both acquisitions still pending close

Source corrected but items not datable:

  • Segment (Twilio): the page I had been monitoring, segment.com/release-notes, is dead and frozen at July 2024. The live feed is community.segment.com/product-updates, which carries substantial material including an Alerting Hub GA, Audience Size Alerts GA, and Consent Management in Unify and Engage in public beta storing consent preferences as Unify Profile traits with automatic enforcement in Engage destinations. The feed does not expose reliable per-item dates and mixes current items with much older ones, so nothing is attributed to this window. Finding a dated Segment surface is a Week 32 task.

Still not verified, carried to Week 32:

  • Treasure AI, Pacvue, Customer Data Alliance: cleared on newsroom or blog pages only, with no dedicated release feed identified. Given this edition’s record that is not a basis for a no-news claim.
  • InsiderOne: newsroom checked (latest 8 June), but no dated product release-notes feed identified beyond SDK changelogs.

Watching next (Week 32)

  • Adobe Marketo Engage: confirmation that SOAP and the Merge Leads limit took effect on 31 July, and whether an August release page appears.
  • Adobe Journey Optimizer: the August ‘26 section; Loyalty Challenges moving from private beta and any published pricing for the Journey Optimizer Loyalty licence; Channel optimization beyond limited availability; the batch-audiences restriction, which now covers the Audience Qualification node and Exit Criteria and blocks publication from September 2026.
  • Braze: whether the remote MCP server moves from early access, and what the scope model looks like in the documentation.
  • Showpad: post-event detail on the Remote MCP Server, including how the governance inheritance actually works.
  • 6sense MCP Server: the move from open beta to August GA.
  • Klaviyo: whether Composer takes an explicit GA label.
  • Bloomreach: changelog 1.314.
  • SFMC: SMS and WhatsApp consent mapping ahead of 17 August.
  • Adobe AEP: the write-time profile consolidation completing its rollout, and whether customers report ingestion-timing effects; Segment Match migration guidance ahead of 27 November 2026; the CX Coworker Sandbox Tooling skill extending beyond Schema and Audience objects.
  • Adobe Journey Optimizer B2B: 2026.7, and account-journey support for multi-event listeners.
  • BlueConic / Blueshift, Hightouch / LiveRamp, HubSpot / Warmly, Zoom / Common Room: all four still open.

How this is compiled. Each edition is assembled from official vendor release notes, changelogs, and corporate newsrooms, with AI assistance for the first-pass scan, then reviewed and edited by me before publishing. Items are checked against the primary source; anything I could not confirm is flagged inline. Dates and status reflect what was published as of the current-as-of date above and can change.

Corrections and method notes. This edition had a significant method failure, caught before publication and documented here in full rather than quietly fixed.

My initial scan used automated page fetches as the primary method and treated their output as authoritative. It is not. A full re-verification of every line changed the finding for nine sources: Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer B2B, Bloomreach, Iterable, Tealium, Optimove, MoEngage and the CDP Institute, plus a major HubSpot launch that my third-party source predated. Six of those were originally recorded as “no new items this week” when the vendor had in fact shipped.

Three distinct causes. For Adobe, the fetch and the browser return materially different documents from the same URL. For Bloomreach, Iterable, Tealium and Optimove, I was reading the wrong document: a changelog index that under-reports, a blog instead of release notes, a press page instead of a release feed, a media-coverage page instead of a What’s New. And for MoEngage, Segment and the CDP Institute, the monitored URL was dead or the real source was never on my list at all. MoEngage’s monitored page had been frozen for four months and Segment’s for two years, both returning a clean result every week. That third category is the most dangerous, because it fails silently and indefinitely.

One consequence is worth calling out separately because it is the worst kind of error. Having wrongly concluded that Bloomreach had not shipped 1.314, I went further and characterised the resulting gap as unusual against the vendor’s normal cadence. That inference was built entirely on my own scan failure. Release 1.314 shipped on 22 July. Inventing a narrative about a vendor from a broken scan is worse than missing the release, and I would rather say so here than let it stand.

The Adobe detail, for the record. Re-reading every Adobe source in a browser changed three of four findings: the Journey Optimizer page showed three July capabilities by fetch and roughly twenty across eight sections in the browser, including the entire Loyalty Challenges module; the Experience Platform /latest page served the June release to a fetch and the July release to a browser, so what this edition would have reported as “no news” was in fact a full in-window release; and Journey Optimizer B2B showed 2026.5 by fetch when 2026.6 had been deployed on 10 July. Only Marketo Engage matched. Everything in the Adobe rows above comes from the browser-rendered pages, and I have changed the standing method so these pages are always read in a browser. A “no news” result from an automated fetch is not evidence of no news.

Two further corrections follow from that. The batch-audiences restriction I previously described as affecting the Audience Qualification node from August 2026 in fact covers the Audience Qualification node and Exit Criteria, and blocks publication from September 2026. And Adobe Journey Optimizer Loyalty was announced on 20 April 2026 with no earlier edition of this Watch capturing it. The AJO B2B 2026.6 release is recorded here as a dated late capture, since it deployed on 10 July and should have appeared in edition 14.

Two further corrections to edition 14. First, that edition described a “31 July triple deadline” for Adobe Marketo Engage; the announcements page states the REST access_token query-parameter deprecation takes effect after 31 August 2026, so 31 July carries the SOAP end of support and the Merge Leads 25-ID limit only. It also attributed error code 1003 to the Merge Leads limit, which returns 1080; 1003 belongs to the separate static-list rule effective 30 September. Second, that edition dated the 6sense MCP Server to “the week of 17 July”; 17 July is the trade-press pickup, while 6sense’s own MCP documentation carries a publication date of 6 July 2026. I could not establish a single authoritative announcement date from primary sources, so I am flagging the ambiguity rather than asserting a replacement date. This edition also includes one dated late capture: Braze’s 23 July release, whose page was still a 404 at last week’s scan, and one one-week-late capture, AJO’s Channel optimization dated 22 July. Found something inaccurate or out of date? Tell me and I will fix it in the next edition.
