MarTech Watch: Week 39, 2026

Week 39, 2026
Coverage window 18–24 September 2026.

For the interpretation of this week, and why a consent field and an OAuth sign-in turn out to be the same design decision, see the companion essay: Weekly MarTech Signals That Matter to Me: Part 21, Week 39. This page is the record; the essay is the read.

This week’s record

Two of the nine platforms I run in production replaced a shared, project-wide control with a per-person one: Iterable for the email tracking pixel, Braze for agent access.

  • Iterable documented user-level tracking-pixel consent on 21 September, available in early October: with the project setting on, marketing email carries the open-tracking pixel only when the recipient’s emailTrackingPixelConsent field is exactly boolean true, and transactional email is not checked. Iterable’s documentation cites CNIL and Garante guidance.
  • Braze made its remote-hosted MCP server generally available in its 17 September release, published after last week’s scan. Agents sign in with OAuth as the Braze dashboard user, with no API key, and access follows that user’s permissions.
  • The 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Multichannel Marketing Hubs was published, dated 22 September. Braze announced it is a Leader for the fourth consecutive year.
  • Adobe shipped its September wave across Journey Optimizer, Experience Platform and Campaign’s Web UI, including structured journey version comparison and a Channel Content plugin in CX Enterprise Coworker, and a stated October stop for journeys that use Audience Composition audiences without a primary identity descriptor.
  • Marketo published its September ‘26 notes: the New UI reaches general availability by the end of September, with the Classic UI selectable through the January 2027 release.
  • Iterable’s Fall release added a native Salesforce integration, an Integrations Hub, RCS and Catalog-based segmentation.
  • The Irish DPC fined Google €403 million over location-data processing, and the EDPB adopted a five-step methodology for deciding when a fine is imposed, open for consultation until 13 November.

Late captures in this edition. Braze’s 17 September release and Insider’s Agent One announcement of 17 September fall inside Week 38’s window and were published or found after that edition’s scan. Adobe’s CEO succession of 3 September (Anil Chakravarthy, president of Customer Experience Orchestration, becomes CEO on 1 December 2026) was missed by three editions and is logged here for the record.

No changes this week (scanned, nothing net-new)

Scanned for the 18–24 September window with no net-new release:

  • 6sense: newest release page 2 September, republished 9 September.
  • Adobe Campaign v8 Client Console: 8.9.3 of 11 August still newest.
  • Adobe Journey Optimizer B2B: 2026.8 of 14 August still newest; page stamped 20 September without a new release.
  • Bloomreach: release 1.318 still newest. Documentation URLs remain under /engagement/ after the UI rename to Marketing.
  • CNIL: see the table for the one in-window item.
  • Garante per la protezione dei dati personali: newest comunicato 3 September. The open-tracking pixel compliance term of 29 October 2026 is unchanged.
  • GrowthLoop (new to watchlist): first scan; newest item 19 August 2026.
  • HubSpot: newest company news 16 September.
  • Insider SDKs: Android 17.1.0 (7 September) and iOS 16.0.0 (31 August) still newest; no cross-platform bridge carries App Frames yet.
  • MoEngage: August 2026 still newest.
  • Optimizely: 22 September research item, no product release.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement and Marketing Cloud Next: Winter ‘27 Marketing release-note changes read “No changes since the initial publication”, with no September section.
  • Salesforce newsroom: no material in-window item.

Scanned but unresolved, reported as source states rather than vendor silence:

  • Segment (Twilio): the product-filtered Twilio changelog is the only available route. Its newest item is a Unify entry of 30 March 2026, newer than the 21 January entry previous editions reported as newest; nothing since.
  • Insider platform-level release notes: no route; the academy carries SDK changelogs only.
  • Hightouch “Agentic CDP” of 26 August: untraced, fifth edition.

Watching next (Week 40)

  • Iterable pixel consent going live in early October, and the Garante compliance term on 29 October.
  • AJO Audience Composition stop at the end of October for audiences without a primary identity descriptor, and the Dataset TTL guardrail on existing sandboxes from 1 October.
  • Marketo September ‘26 rollout from 25 September, the error 1003 static-list limit on 30 September, and Grab Images from Web leaving in the October release on 23 October.
  • Braze’s next release on 15 October on the four-week cadence, and whether the beta-program MCP tools move to general availability.
  • Bloomreach 1.319, due around the end of September on the fortnightly cadence.
  • Other vendors’ placements in the 2026 MMH Magic Quadrant.
  • EDPB fining guidelines consultation, closing 13 November.

How this is compiled. Each edition is assembled from official vendor release notes, changelogs and newsrooms, plus regulator publications. An AI assistant does the first-pass scan, reading release notes in a browser or through vendor-published Markdown and feed routes, and I review and edit before publishing. Items are checked against the primary source; anything I could not confirm is marked as such. Dates and statuses reflect what was published as of the current-as-of date and can change.

Corrections and method notes. Spot an error? Tell me and I will fix it in the next edition. This edition logs three late captures (Braze 17 September release, Insider Agent One, Adobe CEO succession) and corrects the Segment record: the filtered changelog’s newest item is 30 March 2026, not 21 January. Mailchimp (Intuit) and Cordial are retired from the watchlist for now, as neither has a usable release-notes route. Salesforce’s Agentforce Platform Enabled by Default note, first recorded in Week 36 from the change log, has now been read in full: it documents the opt-out, turning off the Einstein setting on the Einstein Setup page. An aggregator listed a dbt Labs and Fivetran merger on 22 September; the merger completed on 1 June 2026 and is not recorded here.
