MarTech Watch: Week 40, 2026

Week 40, 2026
Coverage window 25 September – 1 October 2026.

For the interpretation of this week, and why the identity an agent acts under is the first architecture question, see the companion essay: Weekly MarTech Signals That Matter to Me: Part 22, Week 40. This page is the record; the essay is the read.

This week’s record

At its Forge conference, Braze announced an agent that reviews every campaign against brand rules and logs each check and fix, and an Operator that works inside Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot under the individual user’s identity.

  • Braze announced Agentic Standards, Operator Connect, Decisioning Studio Go and Conversational Agents on 29 September, all in beta, with Decisioning Studio Go expected to reach general availability on 14 October and Agentic Standards in October.
  • Bloomreach 1.319 added WhatsApp Business-Scoped User IDs to sender profiles, with a migration step for existing senders, and connected Bynder and Contentful assets to campaigns.
  • Adobe Journey Optimizer shipped content preview in the journey canvas, Android Live Updates, URL validation in content simulation (Limited Availability) and alerts on the orchestrated-campaign canvas, and its page now states that journeys using a batch audience in Audience Qualification or Exit Criteria can no longer be published. Journey Optimizer B2B 2026.9 added people lists.
  • Insider’s Android SDK 17.2.0 no longer wakes the app in the background when GDPR consent is not given.
  • Salesforce agreed to acquire Listen Labs, an AI customer research and simulation platform, and Marketing Cloud Next added a way to open Distributed Marketing from custom components.
  • Correction: the Marketo Engage MCP Server has been in open beta since the May 2026 release and has a full developer guide page. Previous editions described it as undocumented.

From Marketing Cloud Next (added the week of 21 September): one-time import of a data extension into a marketing object, marketing object schemas built from scratch, sandbox testing with Data 360 sync, Bulk API for marketing object data, and automated UTM tagging. From Adobe Journey Optimizer: the Decisioning Explainer and Rules & Ranking skills in Coworker (16 September) and inbound monitoring graphs (24 September). Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin on 10 September. Treasure AI’s Consolidated Account Utilization Dashboard (24 September).

  • Garante compliance term for email tracking pixels on 29 October.
  • AJO Audience Composition stop at the end of October for audiences without a primary identity descriptor.

How this is compiled. Each edition is assembled from official vendor release notes, changelogs and newsrooms, plus regulator publications. An AI assistant does the first-pass scan, reading release notes in a browser or through vendor-published Markdown and feed routes, and I review and edit before publishing. Items are checked against the primary source; anything I could not confirm is marked as such. Dates and statuses reflect what was published as of the current-as-of date and can change.

Corrections and method notes. Spot an error? Tell me and I will fix it in the next edition. Two corrections this edition. First, editions from Week 36 to Week 39 described the Marketo Engage MCP Server as existing but undocumented; it was announced in open beta in the May 2026 release notes and has a developer guide page, now part of the scan. Second, the previous edition recorded Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement and Marketing Cloud Next as unchanged from the central change log; the per-product release-note pages carried the items listed above as late captures, and those pages are now the route. An aggregator dated the Listen Labs agreement 30 September; Salesforce’s own page dates it 29 September.
