GEO and AEO become a buyable category
Generative and answer engine optimisation turn from agency services into products that marketing platforms sell.
The pattern so far
HubSpot put AEO in its spring release in April 2026, and in June a wave of launches made GEO and AEO a product category: Adobe Brand Visibility, Optimizely's AEO platform, Sprinklr LLM Insights and Jasper's GEO Agent, followed in July by Contentful's Palmata. After Palmata the wave stopped: no new entrant from July to September, so the pattern has been stalling since July.
Trajectory
Month by month
- Stalling Reconstructed
No GEO or AEO launch in the month's editions. Three months without a new entrant do not show that the category has become standard practice, so the pattern stays open.

- Stalling Reconstructed
Contentful's Palmata, a GEO measurement product in GA, was the fifth dedicated launch in about three weeks and the last of the wave. The following week the Watch recorded no new entrant, and none arrived for the rest of the month.
- Confirmed Reconstructed
GEO and AEO became products in the same fortnight: Adobe's first GEO product since buying Semrush, a full AEO platform at Optimizely, LLM Insights at Sprinklr and an end-to-end GEO Agent at Jasper.
