Agent launches give way to agent iteration
The wave of agent launches peaks and gives way to iteration on existing agents, until the question becomes what an agent may do.
The pattern so far
The first complete life cycle in the register. Agentic AI was shipping, not only announced, in April; May and June brought a wave of agent launches, with agent-plus-MCP becoming the floor rather than the ceiling; in July launches turned into iteration and a holiday week had none at all. In August the pattern merged into the growth of agent write scope: the news stopped being that an agent exists and became what it is allowed to do.
Trajectory
Month by month
- Absorbed Reconstructed
Merged into the growth of agent write scope: from August the question is no longer whether a vendor has an agent but what the agent may write.
Merged into The agent's write scope outruns its published boundary
- Stalling Reconstructed
Launches turned into iteration. The July weekly said so in its heading, one holiday week had no agent launch at all, and HubSpot's Agent Hub, in public beta, was built to manage agent sprawl rather than add to it.
- Accelerating Reconstructed
The wave peaked. Afiniti, Gainsight, Attentive and Madhive launched agent products in the same week, Bloomreach's Loomi Marketing Agent reached general availability, and four vendors shipped the same agent-plus-MCP package within days.
- Confirmed Reconstructed
Braze's agentic launch (BrazeAI Operator, Agent Console) and Tealium's AI releases arrived in the same month, and AJO moved towards autonomous journey management.
