The headline is the industrialisation of agents: OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft all shipped governance, not capability.
- OpenAI introduced Presence, a production enterprise agent platform built around policies, guardrails, approved actions, and escalation, in limited GA.
- Google Gemini Enterprise began enforcing cryptographic agent identity below the application tier, plus security and logging hardening.
- Microsoft Copilot’s July wave added governed agent publishing and Autopilots (always-on agents), and brought Anthropic’s Claude into Copilot Chat, Cowork, and PowerPoint.
- Google Antigravity shipped 2.3.0 (queued messages, plain-text attachments) and 2.3.1 (stability).
- Anthropic Claude Cowork shipped in-window updates (v1.24012.0, 21 July):
/usageand/costcards in Cowork tasks, faster background computer use, and a cloud-task data-egress notice. Claude Sonnet 5 remains the current frontier agent model.
