This week’s record
No new model. No new agent type. No new autonomous behaviour. Three platforms spent the week on identity, observability and billing, which is what the move from demonstration to deployment looks like from the outside.
- Google Antigravity 2.5.0 (31 July) added enterprise sign-in for Gemini Enterprise accounts with admin controls, and Workforce Identity Federation via Advanced SSO.
- Claude Desktop v1.25927.0 (4 August) added authentication options routing identity-provider sign-in through the operating system’s Microsoft Entra account broker on Windows and macOS, covering inference gateway credentials, Vertex workforce identity, and managed MCP connectors, so sign-in can satisfy Conditional Access policies requiring a managed device. The same release added Projects for organising chats, which remains available even where an administrator has disabled the Cowork tab.
- Gemini Enterprise made its Pay-as-you-go edition generally available (1 August), dropping pooled user-licence quotas in favour of consumption billing with monthly spend limits, and shipped end-to-end tracing across the data-connector workflow (4 August) with two new trace spans,
execute_toolandinvoke_connector, searchable in Trace Explorer and linking the assistant prompt to the third-party API call it caused. - Gemini Enterprise also added seventeen new data stores in Public Preview against exactly one new write action. The ratio is the governance statement.
- OpenAI shipped a small but telling default: pastes over 10,000 characters now become attachments rather than inline text, explicitly to stop them consuming the context window, rolled out to Enterprise and Education on 4 August.
- Microsoft: nothing to report under the relevant-only rule. The newest Copilot release section is 29 July and was captured last week.
The blocker on agent deployment in a large organisation was never capability. It was that a security team could not answer who the agent acts as, what it actually called, and what it will cost. This week each question got an answer from a different vendor.

Cross-notes to the MarTech series

- MoEngage published explicit MCP session lifetimes, 30 days or 7 days of inactivity, managed independently of dashboard and mobile sessions. As far as this watchlist can tell, these are the first hard session-boundary numbers anyone has published for a vendor MCP surface, and they are now the benchmark question to ask every other vendor.
- Delight.ai shipped an MCP server with write operations included, ahead of most vendor MCP servers on scope.
- MoEngage put IP allowlisting in front of its Data APIs, and Adobe Journey Optimizer added WAF IP allowlisting for landing pages.
The pattern across both series this week is the same: the agent-side permission model and the platform-side MCP scope model are hardening simultaneously. Whether they converge into one governance surface, or settle as two surfaces configured by two teams who never speak, is the open question this series is tracking.
