MarTech Watch: Week 42, 2026

Week 42, 2026
Coverage window 9 – 15 October 2026.

For the interpretation of this week, and why the way out of a journey, a segment or an integration now deserves as much design as the way in, see the companion essay: Weekly MarTech Signals That Matter to Me: Part 24, Week 42. This page is the record; the essay is the read.

This week’s record

Bloomreach began bringing segments built in a data warehouse into campaigns and scenarios, and Insider documented a sync that sends its segments to ChatGPT Ads as custom audiences, adding people who enter and removing people who leave.

  • Adobe Journey Optimizer added a Stop action activity that removes a profile from up to five inbound activities or experiences without ending the journey, an on-demand Validate button, and HMAC-signed JWT authentication for custom actions in Limited Availability.
  • Adobe Campaign shipped Client Console 8.9.4 with one improvement and fifteen fixes.
  • Salesforce told administrators that refresh tokens idle for more than 30 days will be revoked, from 21 October in sandboxes and 4 November in production, and agreed to acquire the AI analytics company Loops for Tableau. Hightouch acquired Strata, whose agent builds and maintains custom API integrations.
  • Marketing Cloud Next added a release note on approved attachments for email templates; Klaviyo added email tracking consent to sign-up forms.
  • The Garante’s 29 October term for its email tracking-pixel guidelines was restated by the authority on 5 October, with verification listed among its inspection activities for the second half of 2026 (late capture).

Late captures in this edition. Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (5 October): the authority restated that by 29 October 2026 companies, platforms and newsletters must align notices, consents and withdrawal with its April guidelines on tracking pixels in email, that consent must be revocable simply and also selectively, and that verification is among its inspection activities for the second half of 2026 (Garante). Marketing Cloud Next added release notes in the week of 5 October for reusable agentic content blocks, turning marketing strategy into executable plans with Agentforce, and four Marketing Planning and Operations notes. Insider’s Cordova SDK 4.1.0 (dated 7 October, published 10 October) brings the native bridges to iOS 16.2.1 and Android 17.3.1 with the multi-app identifier and event listener. Adobe Journey Optimizer dated a Business Performance Analysis skill in CX Coworker 7 October. Zeta Global agreed to acquire Digital Audience on 6 October. Treasure AI announced Personalization Studio on 6 October. Klaviyo added Owned Social Insights and Social Performance on 8 October. Two acquisitions from 5 August that earlier editions missed: Klaviyo agreed to acquire the team and technology of Agency, whose co-founder Elias Torres becomes Chief Product Officer leading Composer and Customer Agent (Klaviyo), and Pipedrive acquired Outfunnel, its marketplace app for syncing sales and marketing data (Pipedrive).

Scanned for the 9 – 15 October window with no net-new release:

  • 6sense: release notes newest 6 October.
  • Adobe Campaign Web UI: September ‘26 release (22 September) still newest.
  • Adobe Experience Platform: September release of 22 September still newest.
  • Adobe Journey Optimizer B2B: release 2026.9 still newest; page restamped 9 October.

  • Insider newsroom: newest item 29 September.

  • MoEngage, Phave, Zeotap: no new release notes.
  • Salesforce Account Engagement and Marketing Cloud Engagement: no change in their Winter ‘27 release note logs.
  • CNIL, Dutch Data Protection Authority, FTC: nothing on marketing technology.

Scanned but unresolved, reported as source states rather than vendor silence:

  • Braze investor newsroom: not reachable by either route this run.
  • Marketing Cloud Next note bodies for the weeks of 5 and 12 October: titles and change-log text recorded; bodies not opened this run.

Watching next (Week 43)

  • Braze’s 15 October release and the GA of Decisioning Studio Go and Agentic Standards.
  • Salesforce refresh-token idle limit: sandboxes 21 October, production 4 November.
  • Marketo October release on 23 October, the New UI GA and Grab Images from Web leaving.

  • AJO Audience Composition stop at the end of October; Bloomreach 1.320 rollout to 19 October.

How this is compiled. Each edition is assembled from official vendor release notes, changelogs and newsrooms, plus regulator publications. An AI assistant does the first-pass scan, reading release notes in a browser or through vendor-published Markdown and feed routes, and I review and edit before publishing. Items are checked against the primary source; anything I could not confirm is marked inline. Dates and status reflect what was published as of the current-as-of date and can change.

Corrections and method notes. Spot an error? Tell me and I will fix it in the next edition. The previous edition recorded the Garante’s newest item as 2 October; its 5 October news item on the tracking-pixel guidelines is recorded here as a late capture. This edition adds an acquisition check for every vendor on the watchlist; it found Hightouch’s acquisition of Strata, missed in the first pass, and the two August acquisitions above. An aggregator listed Zeta’s Digital Audience agreement on 9 October; Zeta’s own release is dated 6 October. An EU listing dated 12 October of an Italian telemarketing fine against Wind Tre is not recorded here, because it could not be traced to a 2026 decision on the Italian authority’s site.

MarTech Watch is compiled and edited by Andrea Veggiani, Head of Cross-Channel Marketing & MarTech Solutions at BitBang.
